Joby was very helpful and managed to squeeze me in to his diary when my boiler packed up. Ordered the part I needed and fitted it the next day. Excellent stuff and will be using him again
Joby Howe, Gas Safe heating engineer based in Felixstowe, serving all of Suffolk
Howe Heating is a Suffolk-based gas and heating engineering business run by Joby Howe. Based on the Felixstowe side of Ipswich, Joby covers the whole of Suffolk and most of the Suffolk coast, from Aldeburgh down through Woodbridge and Kesgrave into Trimley, Martlesham, Felixstowe and Ipswich itself.
Joby is Gas Safe registered, which means he's legally qualified to work on any natural gas appliance in your home, from boilers and gas hobs to fires and water heaters. Every job leaves with the right paperwork: Building Regulations notification on new installs, a Gas Safety certificate where it applies, and clear notes on what was done and why.
The business is deliberately small, by design. Joby attends every job himself, so when you book Howe Heating, you get Howe Heating. There's no junior engineer turning up on the day, no different trader on the phone to the one on the doorstep, and no being passed between teams. It keeps the work consistent and the relationships personal.
If you've got a boiler that's making strange noises, a heating system that doesn't quite warm the whole house, a new install in mind, or just want a yearly service done properly, give Joby a call. Quotes are free, advice is honest, and the work is done to a standard you'll happily recommend.
Howe Heating covers all of Suffolk, with most work in Ipswich, Felixstowe, Woodbridge, Kesgrave, Aldeburgh, Trimley and Martlesham. If you're outside those towns but still in Suffolk, give Joby a call on 07393 998 344 and he'll usually be able to come out anyway.
Yes. Howe Heating is Gas Safe registered, which is the legal requirement to work on any natural gas appliance in the UK. Joby carries his Gas Safe ID card on every job and you're welcome to ask to see it before any gas work starts.
Yes, 24-hour callouts are available for genuine emergencies, things like a gas leak, no heating in cold weather, or a leaking boiler. Standard hours are 08:00 to 18:00 every day; outside that, call the same number and it'll go straight to Joby.
No. Quotes are free, on-site if it's a bigger job like a new boiler, or over the phone for simple jobs. You'll have a clear written figure before any work is booked in.
Bank transfer is the easiest option and what most customers use. Card and cash are also fine. Payment is due on completion of the work, with bigger jobs sometimes split into a deposit and a balance, agreed up front.
Most boiler installations come in between £2,500 and £4,000 supplied and fitted, depending on the boiler model, the size of the system and whether any new pipework, flue, or position change is needed. You'll get a fixed written quote after the free survey, with no surprise charges.
A straightforward like-for-like swap is usually done in a single day. Bigger jobs, swapping a system boiler for a combi, moving the boiler to a different room, or adding new pipework, can take two to five days. Joby will tell you up front exactly how long your job should take.
Howe Heating installs Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi and any other major UK manufacturer you'd prefer. The right boiler depends on your property size, hot-water demand and existing system, so Joby will recommend the best fit on the quote visit rather than upselling a particular brand.
Manufacturer warranties for new boilers typically run between 7 and 12 years depending on the brand and model. Howe Heating registers the warranty for you when the install is finished, and you'll get the documentation with the Benchmark commissioning certificate.
Yes. Old boiler removal and disposal is included in the install price. The old unit is taken away, recycled where possible, and you don't pay anything extra for it.
